Lakeside Community Committee
Lakeside Community Committee is an important social service and economic anchor in the Chicago land area that has provided its surrounding communities with a broad spectrum of child and family-oriented programs and services since its inception in 1964.

Lakeside Community Committee is contracted by the Illinois Department of Children and Family services (the Department) to provide foster care, kinship care, transitional living and independent living services to abused and neglected children and youth who can no longer be safely maintained in their birth parent’s home. The age of the clients Lakeside services can range from newborn until the courts determine that wardship should be terminated—never exceeding twenty-one years of age.

Lakeside Community Committee maintains the leadership, staff, workforce, manpower and facilities to ensure that our clients are serviced sufficiently and the agency remains in compliance with all governing standards and regulations.

Cooperative Transitional Living
There are two transitional living facilities for females located on the south side of Chicago.

Independent Living
The independent living program assists adolescent youth with education/vocation and becoming self-sufficient.

Traditional & Kinship Care
Individualized Foster Care services are provided for those children who will best be served in a family setting headed by a caregiver. Individualized Kinship Care services are provided for children who will best be served by a legal or blood relative that meets IDCFS standards and regulations.

HOPE House (Shelter)
Sanctuary Shelter
HOPE House is an emergency shelter that provides housing for teen Youth in Care in emergency situations.
Sanctuary Shelter is an emergency shelter that provides temporary housing for younger Youth in Care in emergency situations.
